Pervez Musharraf on Hard Talk

Pervez Musharraf may not have a lot admirers in India. Justifiably so, for the man is not known for being a particularly nice guy. But I watched him on BBC's Hard Talk recently and I must admit I was impressed. I , personally, hate the interviewer. I know he is doing his job, but something about his intentionally abrasive approach does not sit well with me at all. In my mind, in all these episodes I look forward to the interviewee, whomever he may be, taking him down. It rarely happens because the guy is good. Articulate, urbane, pompous brit, the kind that can intimidate most mortals that have lived in civilised society. But not Musharraf. For an Hour, the controversial general pissed all over him giving back double of what he was getting. For the first time, I saw the suave brit stammer and stutter and basically wear a dishevelled look. God, was I happy! I couldn't care about the content of what he was saying, probably all of it was highly false, but he wiped the smugness off the tough-talking interviewer (who may actually be a very sweet guy, btw) and wiped it good! Certain things are priceless. For everything else there is Mastercard.
